Sync & Data

Any change you make on the device (a new pupil assessment, a new class, an edited pupil, an answer to an internal evaluation) is saved locally first. The pink Sync Needed banner appears at the top of the home screen whenever there is local work that has not been sent to the server yet. Running a sync uploads those changes and pulls down anything new the server has for you.

How to sync

The app never syncs on its own, you always trigger it manually. From the home screen you have two ways to run a sync:

• Tap Sync on the pink Sync Needed banner.
• Tap Check for New Visits at the top of the home screen.

Either one runs a full sync. The three-dot menu also has a Sync option you can use if you want to force a sync even when the banner is not showing.

The banner is informational

You can keep working while it is on screen. Anything you add will be included in the next sync.
