Backups and troubleshooting
Open the three-dot menu and choose Settings. These controls are available in app versions that include Pending work backup and Error reports. If they are absent, tell support your installed app version before changing or reinstalling the app.
Pending work backup
Section titled “Pending work backup”This keeps recovery copies of unsent changes and pending photos separately from normal sync. Tap Back up now and check the status message. Last received records the most recent backup receipt; it does not mean the assessment has been uploaded through normal sync.
If upload cannot finish, local copies are retained so another attempt can be made. Keep the app installed and preserve its data. Retry with a connection. Contact support if the status says recovery is unavailable, needs attention, or a local copy needs repair.
A backup does not complete an assessment, replace Sync, or restore work automatically. Do not rely on a fixed background backup schedule: device and network conditions affect when it can run. Support may need to help recover a retained copy.
Error reports
Section titled “Error reports”If an action fails, note the error reference shown in the message and retry when appropriate. In Settings → Error reports, check the report status and Latest error reference.
- Tap Send saved reports to retry sending saved error reports.
- When support asks, tap Share diagnostic report, then choose the agreed destination in the device’s share sheet.
- Include what you were trying to do, the error reference and the app version shown near the bottom of Settings.
Diagnostic reports contain the app version, error codes and code locations. They exclude pupil details, answers and passwords. A pending-work backup is different: it contains work needed for recovery, so do not treat it as a diagnostic report.
For a sync problem, also follow Sync & Data. Avoid logging out or uninstalling while unsynced work needs attention.
