The district dashboard

The district dashboard is your starting point for everything that happens in one district. It opens on the Monitoring Activity tab, and across the top you have four tabs: Monitoring Activity, Impact, Schools and Legacy.

This is the default tab, showing how much monitoring has happened in the district.

Near the top you have a set of figure tiles. An All Time Monitoring Activity card counts School Visits, Teacher Observations and Pupil Assessments, with an Internal Evaluations tile appearing when there are any. A Term/Period Monitoring Activity card shows the same figures for the term or period selected in the floating dropdown at the top of the page, plus an Active Monitors count.

The Daily Monitoring Activity chart shows, in its own words, the “Number of monitoring forms submitted each day. A monitoring form can contain more than one teacher.” When there are internal evaluations to show, the chart splits into a School Visits tab and an Internal Evaluations tab; otherwise the visits chart appears on its own, without tabs.

The Officials Monitoring Activity leaderboard lists the top officials by activity, with columns Official, School Visits, Teacher Observations and Pupil Assessments. The official ranked first is marked with a gold trophy. A See Complete List link takes you to the full leaderboard.

Below the leaderboard, a School Visits table lists individual visits with their Visit date (a link to the visit), School, Monitor and Form. A View Teachers With And Without Visits link sits beneath the table.

The Impact tab reports on results over time: key results by scoring band, results-over-time charts by year group, and a teacher performance section. The Key Results and Teacher Performance sections each have a year selector and a See Results for Each School link that breaks the figures down school by school. The results-over-time charts in between have neither.

The Schools tab is the list of schools in the district, with a map alongside.

  • The schools table has a School column (a link to each school) and a Teachers column showing a grid of coloured teacher icons. The colour reflects each teacher’s rating: green for a strong rating, yellow for a middling one, and red for a low one. Hover an icon to see the teacher’s name, or click it to open the teacher.
  • An Add new school link lets you create a school in this district.
  • A school-visit map sits beside the table, plotting where visits have taken place.

Senior managers see a configuration menu on the district dashboard with a few extra tools:

  • A link to the district’s deduplication system, for finding and resolving duplicate schools and teachers. See Evaluating a district.
  • Impact Configuration, for setting the assessments and scoring bands behind the Impact tab.
  • Download teachers CSV, which exports the district’s teachers.
