The Communication tab
The Communication tab is where you reach the people connected to a project by message. It is part of the full navigation only. The tab has two panes, SMS Groups and WhatsApp Groups.
SMS Groups
Section titled “SMS Groups”The SMS Groups pane lists your SMS groups as cards. At the top, a Last SMS sent line shows when a message was last sent and how long ago. If none has ever been sent, it reads “There’s never been sent any SMS,”.
Use Create SMS group to make a new group. Each group can collect its recipients either by adding numbers manually or by criteria such as a district or a training.
The group cards
Section titled “The group cards”Each SMS group card shows the group name and its recipient count (for example “12 recipients”). The buttons on a card depend on your role:
- Send SMS is available to senior managers and above.
- Remove is available to administrators.
- See more opens the group’s own page, and is available to everyone who can view the tab.
Sending an SMS
Section titled “Sending an SMS”Choosing Send SMS opens a “Sending SMS” composer. As you type, it shows a live character count. When you are ready, Send checks the cost and then reveals the total number of recipients and the estimated cost. The composer’s title changes to “Confirm to send SMS”, and a Confirm button delivers the message to the group.
WhatsApp Groups
Section titled “WhatsApp Groups”The WhatsApp Groups pane does not list the groups itself. It holds a single View WhatsApp Groups button that takes you to the WhatsApp Groups page, where the groups live.
