The Monitoring Activity tab

The Monitoring Activity tab is the activity view of a project. It gives you a single picture of how much monitoring has happened, who has been most active, and how each district compares. Opening a project lands you on its Training tab; switch to Monitoring Activity with the tab bar (project staff and region officials can also use the Overview link in their sidebar).

What you see depends on your role

The tabs across the top of a project change with your role.

• Full navigation (managers and country officials) shows every tab: Training, Monitoring Activity, Impact, Monitoring data, Assessment data, Communication and Legacy, plus a districts dropdown.
• Reduced navigation (project staff and region officials) shows only Monitoring Activity and Training, plus the districts dropdown.

Whichever navigation you have, the Monitoring Activity tab works the same way. The rest of this guide describes that tab.

All Time Monitoring Activity

At the top of the page, the All Time Monitoring Activity heading sits above a row of key-figure boxes. These totals cover the whole life of the project and do not change when you switch the period below. If the project uses internal evaluations, an Internal Evaluations box appears here too.

The period selector

Below the all-time figures there is a term and period dropdown. Open it to pick a specific term, or to enter your own start and end dates. Everything below the all-time figures reloads for the period you choose.

Tip

If the numbers look lower than you expect, check the period selector first. You may be looking at a single term rather than the full history.

Period counters

For the period you select, a row of counters shows:

• School Visits
• Teacher Observations
• Pupil Assessments
• Active Monitors
• Active Districts

Each one loads on its own, so you may briefly see Loading… while a figure is fetched. If the project uses internal evaluations, a count of those appears alongside.

Daily Monitoring Activity chart

The Daily Monitoring Activity chart shows the number of monitoring forms submitted each day across the period. Where internal evaluations are in use, the chart offers two tabs, School Visits and Internal Evaluations, so you can look at each stream separately.

District Monitoring Activity

The District Monitoring Activity section ranks your districts by how much monitoring each has done. It shows the top ten as a leaderboard, with a See Complete List link to the full ranking, and a colour-shaded map of the region so you can see activity at a glance.

Note

The word for a district is set per country in most of the dashboard, but in this section the heading and the table column always read “District” whatever your country calls that level. It refers to the same level either way.

Officials and Project Staff leaderboards

Two more leaderboards rank the people doing the monitoring: an Officials Monitoring Activity leaderboard and a Project Staff Monitoring Activity leaderboard. Each shows the top ten, with a See Complete List link to the full sortable table. For the full ranking pages, see Project leaderboards.

Teacher activity table

When the project uses internal evaluations, a Teacher Monitoring Activity table appears with columns Teacher, Internal Evaluations and Pupil Assessments. It lists the top ten teachers and can be sorted by column. If the project does not use internal evaluations, this table does not appear.

The names in the leaderboards, the map and the tables are links. Click a district, a school, a teacher or a monitor to drill into it, and use the breadcrumbs at the top of the page to climb back up.
